Cannibal Corpse
The Wretched Spawn
One of life's great consistencies is Cannibal Corpse. They are one of the death metal pioneers and no matter the era or style popular at the moment they always sound like Cannibal Corpse.
It is a constant source of amusement to me that they never seem to run out of horrible ways to end a person. I mean who thinks up titles like "Frantic Disembowelment?" This brings to mind past classics like "Force Fed Broken Glass" and "Mummified in Barbed Wire."
The irony is how nice the guys actually are. When I saw them at Jaxx a few years back they stopped the show several times to calm the crowd down so no one would get hurt. And because the crowd broke the barrier. But they were genuinely concerned about the fans, and rather than looking menacing on stage (hello Krisiun) they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Good friendly violent fun eh?
Anyway, this is more of the same from Cannibal Corpse. If you like their past efforts you will likely enjoy this one as well. Not for the faint of heart.
