Welcome to Rock Music Critic! Check out reviews in the Flash menu above or the static links below. This latest version of the site now includes reviews with an embedded music player so you can listen to whole albums once for free courtesy of Lala.com. Lala doesn't always have an album, but when they do I will include the player. What's easier than listening to an album to decide whether you like it? Feel free to ignore my petty ramblings and just listen to the tunes. That's really the whole point anyway. Up the Irons!! ~ George

Ok, first of all, these guys need new names. I mean come on. Churchburner and Insulter of Jesus Christ. Sounds more like slacker occupations than names to me. It's just silly and ridiculous in a way only black metal bands can be.

Goofy ass names aside, I actually rather like this CD. It is definitely lo-fi, but there is good separation and so the rawness actually gives it some character. My first thought was "Oops, I put in Venom's "Black Metal" by mistake!" It really does have an old Venom sound to it, which is definitely cool.

I like the old school sound of the guitars. I think this is the sound that so many black metal bands are striving for when they release a crappy sounding album. This is very cold sounding; there probably aren't any bass level frequencies anywhere on here, this all sounds like it's playing through the telephone.

When I first listened to this I almost wanted to laugh (possibly because I was still amused by their names) but now I'm really pretty into this disc.

So there you have it. If you are into good black metal with quality "poor production" I think you might like this.

Pardon me while I go put on my goat suit and run around the mountain forest chasing Christians and virgins.
