Welcome to Rock Music Critic! Check out reviews in the Flash menu above or the static links below. This latest version of the site now includes reviews with an embedded music player so you can listen to whole albums once for free courtesy of Lala.com. Lala doesn't always have an album, but when they do I will include the player. What's easier than listening to an album to decide whether you like it? Feel free to ignore my petty ramblings and just listen to the tunes. That's really the whole point anyway. Up the Irons!! ~ George

Right away I like this. Music is strong and tight. And this guys voice, I love it. He makes me feel nostalgic for something 80's. I wish I could think of who he is reminding me of, but whatever it is, I know it was something I liked. Maybe it will come to me later. Apparently this band has been around since the 80's and this is their first CD in like 16 years or something crazy. What a comeback! I thought I read that this current singer was the drummer before, and that the old singer died from diabetes complications or something. Sad. But I gotta say that this is quite a comeback. More please!

This sounds fresh and yet familiar. This is a good thing. It's like coming back to your childhood and finding all sorts of cool new things there. I think the best words to describe this CD so far are well balanced. It's modern with its double bass rhythms and symphonic synths and female backing vocals, yet old school in some of the riffs and such. Yet none of these things overburden the song like happens with some other bands. While I love Rhapsody, sometimes the whole massive chorus thing gets a little old. And Bal Sagoth might go a little overboard with their synth parts sometimes. But here, it all gels nicely together.

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a concept album or just that it has a theme that runs across the album. I know it is supposed to be about aliens that came down and made crop circles and giant patterns that you can only see from the air, all before man had the ability for flight. Aztec kinda stuff. I will have to read the lyrics closer to find out more.

I have a feeling this CD is going to be spending a great deal of time in my player. And these guys are French? Who would have thought such a great album would come from there. Not me. I don't know too many French bands. But I like this one.

Why can't I think of who he sounds like? It's going to drive me CRAZY I tell you! If you can think of it, please contact me and let me know, as this will be causing me many sleepless nights.

People are probably gonna think I'm being paid to be a suck ass, but no, this really is a great listen. I listen to music because I like music, and so I listen to it with the expectation that I am going to like what I hear. Unlike those "critics" who seem to feel the need to justify themselves by tearing apart perfectly good music, which you know they couldn't even do themselves. (I'm a musician, and I suck, if I didn't you probably would have heard of me! At least I'm honest.)

In conclusion I have to say that this really is going to be one of my favorite metal CD's for awhile. At least until I get my hands on the Poisonblack CD. If you have a metal bone in your body, get this CD!
