Holy hell! What a surprise this disc turned out to be! First off let me say that this disc is straight-up awesome. If you read no further you must at least know that.
Based on what I gather from their bio, this band is from Sweden, but damn if they don't sound straight out of power metal Germany. Sabaton should be the kid brother of Running Wild.
The singer's vocals are rough-but-clean much like Rolf of Running Wild. The music is fast, and very catchy with the chorus vocals comprising of gang vocals that easily get stuck in your head. Sort of like Running Wild meets Gamma Ray. It reminds me a bit of Olympos Mons, but that the vocals are a bit deeper on this album.
I'm not sure if this is a concept album, but it certainly delves into World War II imagery.
I love this album; this will definitely be in my player a lot in the months to come. This is the kind of metal that gets my blood pumping and makes me want to dust off my axe, change the strings, and start writing again. Good stuff I say.
In case you hadn't figured it out yet, fans of power metal and Running Wild should take note of this band. And if you don't know who Running Wild is, shame on you, go listen to Disturbed or something you wannabe.
