| Welcome to Rock Music Critic! Check out reviews in the Flash menu above or the static links below. This latest version of the site now includes reviews with an embedded music player so you can listen to whole albums once for free courtesy of Lala.com. Lala doesn't always have an album, but when they do I will include the player. What's easier than listening to an album to decide whether you like it? Feel free to ignore my petty ramblings and just listen to the tunes. That's really the whole point anyway. Up the Irons!! ~ George |

 | Vehemence | | Helping the World to See | | | This is some pretty standard death metal. The vocals lie somewhere between Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. Not as clear as Cannibal Corpse, and not as deep as Deicide.
The music isn't just all blast beat madness however, it is actually pretty cool, so there is that setting them apart from typical death metal. I'd like to hear this band with a different vocal style. I think they could easily pull off a Beyond the Embrace style which would be much cooler paired with this music.
Musically the production sounds pretty good (though it could be these nice new Bose headphones I received for Christmas, they make everything sound SWEEEEEEEET), though I don't care for the vocals that much.
"Alone in your presence" is a nice little semi-mellow break from aggression right in the middle of the disc that gives a little perspective to the rest of the disc.
Though I don't really like the vocals on this disc, it IS death metal, so this is to be expected. But just because it is death metal is no excuse for bad vocals. There are many death metal bands that do not let the vocals suffer just to be brutal. There are even more, unfortunately, that do.
Aside from all that, the music is still cool, so it takes a bit of the sting out of the vocals. Ok, so they are slightly above average for death metal. | TRACKLIST:
